Whats new at Wonderland

Mongol Rally July 2010 update

You may remember a couple of weeks ago we announced that friends of WW, Nick and Jim were embarking on the epic Mongol Rally in aid of the Mercy Corps. Well it is with great sadness, but also relief that we can now bring you the news that after 2wks and more that 4,000 miles they have had to pull out.

Their vehicle of choice bought them endless nightmares, with several serious breakdowns and garage stops, where they were ripped off and left with problems worse than when the garage started to look at it! They were also robbed, slept in many dubious places, and generally have had an extremely tough time. The journey has now had to come to an end, they have handed their truck over to customs in Kazakstan, which more than likely means a member of staff is now the proud new owner of the truck, and Jim and Nick are going their separate ways.

Nick is jetting off to join girlfriend, Zara in Sri Lanka for another 2 months of travelling, and Jim is going to hitch hike with other Mongol Rally 2010 teams for the remaining 6,00 miles to Mongolia!

We are relieved that both Nick and Jim are safe and wish them both lots of adventure and safe travels for the rest of their journey.

Congratulations also on the huge amount raised for the Mercy Corps - nearly £3,000!

Sam.
